Janelle Arthur

Janelle fell in love with acting at only 8 years old when she was chosen to portray a young Dolly Parton in the production of “Paradise Road”. Many years later, it all came full circle when she recorded a duet with Dolly Parton herself called “Hand Me Downs".

I was actually discovered by a casting director when I was on American Idol. I couldn't believe how much I loved acting, it was so rewarding. I am new to Backstage, but I am loving the opportunity to connect with other creatives in the business.

I love that because of backstage, I've been able to connect with an awesome community of local talent who I have become friends with, as well as some production companies who continue to hire me for jobs! Although I have an agent, I'd say about half the jobs I was hired for last year were through my own finding on Backstage.com, and I am so very grateful for that!

Siane Wilson

In her time working for Disney, Siane met thousands of guests from around the world. Every single time she went onstage or had personal acting interactions with them, seeing the children's faces light up while watching her perform was one of the best and most magical feelings ever to date.

I love so many things about Backstage. One of my favorite things is the people that I meet through each job. I have made so many amazing friends working together on set or in shows that have now become lifelong friends.

Kathryn Roberts

Kathy's love of acting began in the late 1970's when she took acting classes at Freedom Theater. However, after auditioning for Grammy Award winner Billy Paul, her professional singing career began, placing her acting career on hold for decades. After retirement with many years as a CFO, she signed up with Backstage and reignited her love of acting.

With each new role I grow more encouraged and more in love with the craft of acting. It has become my new passion and I feel like I'm on a great adventure, even at this stage of my life!
The many opportunities that Backstage has afforded me by providing a platform that brings together actors and those seeking to employ us is an invaluable resource! I'm finding that it's never too late to realize a dream deferred.

Backstage is the love of our life besides each other. It has allowed us to act as a team. It has brought us countless opportunities we would never have had. Couples are in high demand, especially older ones like us. We are getting more work through Backstage than we can keep up with.

Dave Fript

Dave taught history for over 40 years, but even when he was teaching he was acting. He would act out events, and create characters for his classes. When he retired from teaching, he realized that he had a chance to return to his childhood passion of acting... and so he did.

I am saying this for all the other old people who have deferred their dreams. Get going on your second half of life! There is so much more to do than puttering around a golf course or a pool. Get out there and find the passion of your youth. It's like the old Twilight Zone episode, "Kick The Can." That game won't keep you young, but acting will.

What really keeps me coming back to acting and working hard in my career is that nothing else in the world makes my heart come alive like acting does! It feels so wonderful and peaceful knowing I've found my calling and purpose in life and Backstage has been an integral part of my growth and success. I recommend it to actors I meet everywhere!

Kateryna Tokareva

Kateryna has been performing since she was 5 years old but started pursuing acting seriously at 14 years old when she started attending acting classes in the Ukraine. Two years ago, she unexpectedly moved to the United States but is determined to not let anything stand in her way from becoming a successful Ukrainian actress in the United States.

Acting is a pleasure for my soul and heart. With every new role I play, I fall in love with acting as I can see myself in different ways and experience new emotions.

Backstage is really manageable, and specifically for me was really easy to fill in my information and find and apply for jobs. Every day I find more and more opportunities.
